Why not simply say we believe in Jesus Christ…who suffered, was crucified, dead, and buried?”
Of all the people with whom Jesus interacted in his ministry, of all the people he was associated with, even considering the many people who were involved in Jesus’s arrest & trial (from Judas’s betrayal, to Caiaphas the high priest, to the denials of Peter)…Why should “Pilate” be mentioned in this core summary of Christian Faith?
